I've been on prozac for a little over a month now. I have always had quite a high sex drive, and I would like to keep it that way; my sado-massacistic ways are part of who I am, ya know? So I was just wondering... Will prozac potentially bring my sex drive down??

Prozac brought my sex drive down, but mine wasn't very high to begin with. I was at 40mgs, and I was on it for a little over a year. When I spoke with my doctor about it, he switched me to Wellbutrin. But everything affects everyone different. I thought Prozac was a pretty effective antidepressant. If I were you, I think I would wait to see what happens - and then if you decide the side effects are not worth the mood improvements you are getting, you could see about switching to something else?

Wait and see and odds are, if this is your first depression, you'll be off Prozac in a year and fine. Read some self help/get some CBT if needed.

Prozac made me manic so, it increased my sex drive hahaha.

Thanks for the info. I'll ask my therapist about it today. Thats one side effect I'm not willing to take a chance on.

Wellbrutrin helps with that side effect. Check with your T.
