Just got some samples of Deplin from my psychiatrist, and a prescription.
Trial run ... If it seems to help with my issues around energy, fatigue, depression, etc., then I will see how much filling the Rx will cost me. The prescribing info says nothing about what time to take it. Anybody here taking Deplin have an opinion on what time of day to take it? Essentially just a nutrient, so I don't expect it to mess me up too much... ![]() |

FWIW, Deplin hasn't helped me...too bad!
However, it's worth asking about if you're having problems with low energy, fatigue, etc. Deplin consists of L-methylfolate, a breakdown product of folic acid. The theory (which some of you know well) is that deficiency in this nutrient is linked to some cases of depression. A Deplin tablet is supposed to be like a BIG dose of folic acid. For me, the search continues... ![]() |

I used to take it in the morning. It cost like $45-50 US for a 30 day supply, which was too much for me. It didn't seem to help at all, so I stopped using it.

I tried it for a couple of months. Didn't notice any difference and it cost me $65 per month.

This is a good question for your psychiatrist, who knows you.
You might also research it online to see if there are suggestions about when to take it. I hope it helps you feel better ![]() |

Thanks Echoes, agree with your note... (I should have noted that my psychiatrist didn't tell me anything initially, so I was just floating the question here before my next contact with her.)
I did search online and found pretty much a "whenever" attitude. That surprised me...hey, it's a nutrient, and you'd think it matters when you put it in your body! ![]() |
