Well once again im on something new... Been on and off about 12 different drugs over the past 4 years of treatment. Had luck dealing with my depression but nada on the Anxiety. I changed doctors to one closer since I just moved and he made some changes to my intake.

Effexxor XR 375mg is now at 300mg daily

and he added something new

Clonazepam / generic for Klonopin
Im suppose to take 1 to 2 tablets in the morning and 2 to 3 more at bedtime. Each at .5 MG

He says to me, "Take a few in the morning, take a few in the evening, if you start taking more and more then we know an addiction is forming and we will need to stop"

Doctors... lol , anyhow I read up on it saw some side effects which were pretty normal... then one that said

"If you have problems with stoppage in breathing during sleep contact your doctor"

What in the ****, if I stop breathing while im asleep and oh lets say DIE, what good will that do me?

So im a bit timid to starting taking this medication, anyone else on it and if so any good/bad experiences in helping? Its suppose to be helping with my Social Anxiety btw.

Thanks for any opinions,

~Mark~

Mark, that is probably the rare side effect that has occured in the odd person. I was on klonopin, but had to get off of it as even on the smallest dose I was acting strangly, I found for me personally that for anxiety ativan worked the best.

However all meds will work differently for different people, I wish you best of luck.

Take care.

I am on Klonopin 1mg twice daily for my Panic disorder (I've been taking it for over two years now). I was slowly brought up to this dose due to the fact Klonopin is so addictive. My best advice to you is to start out slowly - one in the morning, and if you still feel anxious, take another 6 hours later, and the recommended two at bedtime. .5mg is the lowest dose, but it seems your doc is unsure how he wants to start you out, and I'd hate to see you get addicted unnecessarily.

Klonopin takes time to build up in your system just like any other AD/mood stabilizer. I have done very well on Klonopin for my social anxiety, but my doctor was wise to start me slowly - .5mg/day and working up to the 2mg/day I'm at now. If titrated right, you should be able to the much needed relief from your anxiety.
