Had problems with both. Risperdal made me somewhat paralyzed on my right side. I could feel but I couldn't walk correctly and Seroquel made me very very hungry. I could eat a 100 course meal and five minutes later be starving again. Anyone else had these issues? I no longer take neither BTW.

Seroquel was extremely effective and I took it for over a year, but one of the side effects I had that I found difficult to deal with is that it made me hungry. The problem was compounded by the fact that it also relaxed my throat so much that even drinking liquids would cause me to choke. It was torture.

seroquel.. ugh. I'm sure it helps some people, but it didn't help me. I was prescribed it while I was at inpatient rehab and basically it made me feel like I was "nodding out" so to speak which bothered some of the other patients-- also, the same with the hunger. Risperdal made my throat feel like I ate chalk and sawdust.

Will never touch seroquel with a 40 foot pole - I know too many people who've been put on it, and it turns them into zombies. I take risperidal - it's ok. It screws with my period and causes me to lactate but it's the best drug I've found for holding my brain together, so I tolerate the side effects.
