I have been on 20mg now for alomst 2 weeks, I think. The sleepiness may be subsiding but I am getting this weird happy high. I feel kind of hyper sometimes. And then sleepy (a little) later in the evening and then sleep too lightly and keep waking up at night. Sometimes I wonder if its my imagination b/c it is very subtle.
Is this possible?

My husband's doctor (pcp) told him to take Lexapro at night. My pdoc told me to take my Zoloft at night. I got along ok. Most of my other SSRI's I took in the morning because they woke me up. Over the years, most people I talked to, it varied probably 50/50 on which ones took the same medications morning vs. night. It just depended on what reaction they had to the medication. Prozac always woke me up big time. I can't remember what else I ever took. It had to be dozens.

Lexapro made me tired, and then I'd be all insomniac at night. It was kind of crazy. Even if I resisted the urge to nap during the day, it was like I was awake all night anyway. That effect seemed to start when I got into the higher dosages (20-40mg...though I don't remember exactly when.) I ended up taking trazodone 50mg at night to help with sleep, and that seemed to help things get back on track. I was still tired during the day, but could sleep at night, at least. I tried taking the lex both in the morning and at bedtime, and it didn't seem to make a difference.
Thanks for this!

Thanks for your responses. Interesting. Im tired now and will take my lexipro later and sleep. But sleeping wont last long and then I'll be up. But Im good to go during the day with energy. But I can also get dizzy driving.

Weird med, but it does definitely help with depression, thats for sure.
