I talked to my pdoc about switching me to this today and he said to wait until next time because we were already switching one med.

Pristiq is the same med as Effexor but better is what he told me. I have been on Effexor and it has worked for me in the past but it has been so long I can't remember any side effects, sorry.

Check on the side effects. It may cause cholesterol and trigliceride increases as well as insomnia for some people. Other than that it is supposed to be like Effexor.

I take 150 mg. Seems to work fine. No side effects that I can tell.

Prestiq is the "new and improved" Effexor, the second generation Effexor that doesn't have some of the unwanted side effects, one of the major ones being difficulty titering down when going off of it. It's been out a little less than a year, I think?
