Hey, I have started taking Invega for my mania and it seems to be helping so far. I've only been on it for 2 weeks. Anyhow, it also seems to be causing some serious water retention as I have gain SEVEN pounds in the past 2 weeks. I read that one of the side effects is water weight gain, so I was thinking of taking those water pills. Has anyone ever taken them before? Should I call my pharm. or pdoc first?

Thanks in advance.

Please talk to your Dr. before you start any type of water pill or any other type of medication. It's so important to have your Dr's guidance in something like this.

Thanks January. I chickened out about taking them anyhow. I wanted to call my pdoc, but I worry that I am annoying-though he swears I am not. But I think he's just saying that to be nice...and on and on my cycle of weirdness goes. Yikes.

Thanks for answering though.

Listen to me... A Dr. told me one time that he was paid to work for me. For me! Your Dr. is paid to work for you. It's scary for us to go to the Dr. and express what we need, but you can learn to do it.

If you can't say what you need, write a letter and just hand it to the Dr. I have done that many times. It works.

I wish you the best.

Thanks January. The letter is a good idea. I am going to try that.
