Hi everyone,
I have been prescribed tamazepam 30mg as needed for sleep. I take it most nights and get between 3-5 hours of interrupted sleep. Sometimes I get a lot less. I guess maybe i should be greatful that I do get some sleep, but was wondering if anyone has taken or is taking this medication and experienced the same thing or something kinda like it?
Thanks for listening,
Jen

(((Jen))

Yes I was on temazepam 20mg for a while but found it useless, I got no sleep at all and was switched to zopiclone, not sure if you can get it in the states, the nearest drug to it I think is Lunesta, but I could be wrong. Anyway this works a treat and I get my full 8 hours everynight and no side effects the next day either.
Thanks for this!

Paddy,
I have been on both lunesta and ambien, i can't take either because of the side effects, but thanks for the idea. Will deal with not sleeping. Have also been on trazadone, and was on it for many many years and it makes me sick with the new MAOI.

With the benzos like tamazepam, they only work for a short time before you habituate and have to up the dose. This leads to dependance......so take care...
I myself have tried trazadone for sleep and also get sick on it. I don't sleep well either and have yet to find a good medication relief. My Psych won't give me bezos because I'm alcoholic and could go into addiction with them. So I just struggle through the night. Exercise has helped some, and keeping a schedule has also. I don't like most OTC's but melatonin has helped me in the past. If you are on MAOI's don't take anything without consulting your Psych first!.......Good Luck, jen29....Y
