Hey everyone,
I was just recently put on Nardil, which is a MAOI. I know all about the food restrictions and some of them are still unclear. I am just wondering if anyone has been on this medication and has had a low grade fever after taking the medications before going to bed. I have been having a low grade fever since being put on it, but was going through some other medical things at the time and never put any thought into it. The past two nights I have had a small temp of about 100 degrees F. I am on other medications but noticed this when was in the hospital after just being put on Nardil. I don't know if this is conincendence (sp) or if I should look into it. I have looked for side effects relating to Nardil and a fever but have not had any luck. Anyone have any ideas? I do see my pdoc on the 9th of March and will bring it up then. Thanks for listening, any feedback is much appreciated. Hugs to you all, Jen __________________ Love Much...Trust Few...Paddle Your Own Canoe! --- Got this off a Dove Chocolate Piece! |

Do you have unresponsive depression? Most Psychs only go to MAOI's when no other meds work, because of the dangerous side effects. Did you contact your psych when you had that reaction. I would keep in touch with him on every perceived change in your normal health..........

Yes I do have unresponsive depression. I have been on most every med that I they have tried. I have even tried some of the bipolar meds like lithium but turned out to be too toxic for me.
I see my pdoc soon, so will talk to him them. Thanks for the response. Jen __________________ Love Much...Trust Few...Paddle Your Own Canoe! --- Got this off a Dove Chocolate Piece! |

Lithium also too toxic for me. Have taken Nardil for several spells in the past and found it can make you feel hot, but never found a rise in internal body temp at those times. Could it possibly be the effect of one of the other meds reacting with the Nardil?

I'm on another MAOI, not Nardil, but I would contact my pdoc if anything weird like the temperature changes was happening. It doesn't hurt to call and it can hurt to not call.
