Anybody have Trazodone cause depression, anxiety, panicky feelings?

I've been clinically depressed for over a year, but over the past month or so I've begun to feel like I'm finally starting to pull out of it.

But I still wake up feeling depressed, anxious and panicky every single morning. And I mean *significantly* depressed and panicky. Crying. My bf said he thought it was because of the Trazodone I'm taking at bedtime so I decided not to take it to see if he was right.

Four nights ago, I didn't take any Trazodone before bed and I felt fine when I woke up! The next night I took 75 mg before bed and was depressed/panicky when I woke up. Night after that, no Trazodone and no morning depression. Last night I took the Trazodone and woke up depressed/ panicky again.

I'm really surprised because I thought Trazodone was one of the antidepressants with relatively few side effects.

Has anybody else experienced problems from Trazodone?

chasinblue,

I was on trazadone years ago for major depression, with no side effects that I remember. However, not too long ago, I used it for sleep and no side effects. I've been on Lexapro now for a couple of years, and lately, I've been waking up with the same feelings you describe. It's weird, huh?

If you are taking trazodone for sleep, maybe you could request Ambien? If not for sleep, remember that trazodone causes drowsiness and it could very well be causing you to feel this way upon awakeing...it's definitely worth talking with doctor about...
