Hi, I'm currently looking for an SSRI to add to topamax, (which I've been on for 4 weeks). I'm going in to the T this coming Tuesday, and I've done all of my drug research -- but I was hoping to get some personal references before I go in. Some key qualities that I'm looking for in an SSRI is one that can control anxiety, depression, and possibly OCD tendencies. Mainly, though, I just want to know what worked for you Thanks to all!

One of the most commonly prescribed SSRI's for anxiety, depression and mild OCD is Paxil CR. I was on it in tandem with Topamax, but I'm Bi-Polar and the Paxil just made me more manic (in higher doses - I was on 75mg/day), so I was taken off of it and put on Lithium.
Before the Paxil pooped out on me, it helped a great deal with my anxiety and depressive moments. I just happen to be resistant to SSRI's, so none of them work on me. Hope this helps, and good luck! Dolfin __________________ "You ever get that feeling your guardian angel went out for a smoke?" |
