Has anyone ever changed between these two? Is there much of a difference, especially if you take the same dose, and as at the same time?
My pdoc had given me alprazolam, but my GP thought clonazepam was much better for seious anxiety (I know - the pdoc is the one that should really know this field inside out) Anyway, I now have both, and want to know which one is "better". Thanks |

Yes they're pretty different at the same dose. You won't really feel any difference unless the dosage is high anyway. I take clonazepam and like them better than alprazolam.

You're welcome. I take 1mg klonopin (clonozapam) and I don't feel any side-effects, but If I take a 1mg xanax (alprazolam) I will get reaaaallly dizzy/high.

Clonazapam is good to take for chonic anxiety or long lasting panic.
Alprazolam is good to take if you need to quell anxiety/panic immediately. Alprazolam usually only lasts about 4 - 5 hours, where Clonazapam lasts longer, so you be the judge on what you'd want to use. They are not interchangeable, unless done properly by the same prescribing doctor. |
