I don't know about them being "healthier" than ssri's. Selegiline is currently available in a patch form known as ensam. It does require strict dietary restrictions. I had terrible loss of blood pressure on ensam and was unable to take it. MAO's are serious meds.

I was on Emsam and due to the fact I am on so many other meds it was getting hard to prescribe anything for me so we decided to take me off of it. It worked for me except for the pain in the butt getting any other med.

I have never been on that combination but selegiline and clozapine together work well for me.

If the MAO's are working for you then that is a good thing, but I do know that you have to be really careful about the other medications you take along with MAO's as even the slightest Over the Counter Medications can cause adverse side effects or serious interactions of an adverse nature, so make sure to read the warning labels on ANY Over the Counter medications and even Herbal Remedy's. Best of luck to you and hope these medications continue to keep you well.
