I've been taking paxil for about five years. I'm currently on a very low dose -- 10mg/day -- and I'd like to switch to something that's as effective but non-prescription, as I will be losing my health insurance soon. I was thinking of St. John's Wort.
Has anyone ever done this? How did it go? Is there a particular way to make the switch? What are equivalents? And so on. Thanks for any help, -Far |

http://www.rxlist.com/st_johns_wort/supplements.htm I would talk to your doctor too, at least tell him what you plan before you start; using the two together can be dangerous.

Thanks, Perna. Those are good links. Yes, it's a good idea to talk to my doctor. (At the very least, I will need an objective observer to keep an eye on my mood while I switch over.)
