The title pretty much says it all.

I am now seeing a Pnurse at our local Human Service Center (sliding fees). They don't carry Effexor XR, so I am being switched to Pristiq. I would like any comments about Pristiq or if you had to switch Effexor XR to something else.

They both work on the same nurotransmitters... Sarotonin, noraphenephrin and dopamine. Good choice.
Thanks for this!

Thanks for this!

I am still having a bit of trouble with the switch. I'm all shaky for a good part of the morning and today I have a horrible headache/migraine. (It started last night)

That sounds like a side effect of withdrawal from Effexor. I've been on Pristiq for about eight months and have never had a problem with it. No side effects. And it actually works, which is a big change for me. Cut my self-termination thinking by around 95%. Put a floor underneath my feelings so there's now a definite limit beyond which I can't get depressed. I'm sure the Effexor withdrawal symptoms will gradually evaporate. How long it will take I don't know. Your T or your P-doc (obviously) are the people to ask. Take care!

I was told that Pristiq will also help with my anxiety. Is this true? I suffer from PTSD and depression and anxiety are my symptoms.
