Every med I have tried so far has caused me to get worse with all the side effects and left me feeling like a zombie or on edge or overly anxious and worse and many other things.

I just do not tolerate any meds well at all.

My doctor now wants to try me on Luvox to combat these obsessive thoughts of aging and dying

Any advice about or experience with this drug would be appreciated.

Thanks.

feary- I am currently taking luvox CR and it has saved my life. I tried many meds before it to help the depression and anxiety but none worked. This one finally did. I really hope it can help you too.

I got much worse on Luvox. I hope it can work for you though. Meds affect everyone differently.

feary- I started with 50 mg I'm now up to 200 mg. For me, I really just felt normal again on the luvox. Worries were very few and depression was nonexistant. The other meds I've tried are Fluoxitine, Zoloft, Prestiq, ambilify, seroquel, saphris, and prozac. They all had no effect. Although some made me gain weight.

Luvox gave me a partial response to my depression symptoms. I have read that for many people it is effective in helping with obsessive thoughts. I did not have a lot of side effects from Luvox. It might be worth a try for you.

Luvox is VERY helpful for my obsessive thoughts and other than some mild insomnia I haven't had ANY side effects. It's been a wonder drug for me.

I was on Luvox for a bit and I did not respond to it, however I also did not have any terrible or uncomfortable side effects. Although it was not the medication of choice for myself I have seen as above person stated how much it can help with the OCD type thoughts and behaviors. I would in my opinion, give it a try and everyone is different perhaps this may be the miracle drug for you and all that you need to help you with the obsession on dying and aging. It is all about trial and error. If you do not give the medication a try how will you ever know if it might have been the one to help you. I hope that you do give it a try and benefit with toleration and little or no side effects from Luvox. Good luck to you. kk101
