I was on paroxetine for about a year and it worked well at stopping my panic attacks and most of my anxiety; however I stopped taking it as a couple of doctors (not my GP - another doctor at the same practice and occupational health at work) suggested I should wean myself off it while things were relatively un-stressful and I was paranoid it was making me gain weight. And for a while it was ok. No panic attacks, not much anxiety.
But now after ~ 4 months off it I am under more stress in general and have been on the brink of panic twice already (once today in a supermarket - that was fun) and more anxious in general and think perhaps I should start taking it again...? I am reluctant though as perhaps I am making a big deal out of nothing, and while last time it worked well, stopping taking it was pretty rubbish for a week or so thanks to the withdrawal and I'd rather not have to do that again. Does anyone else know of any different drugs I could suggest to my doctor or any other ways to reduce anxiety??? ![]()

There are many antidepressants on the market. I does seem however that paroxetine worked the first time.
Please speak to your doctor about what is happening....... |
