I didn't take my lexapro the other day to see if it was the meds making me depressed and suicidal. I was in a rather good mood all day and on through the night. I took my lexapro yesterday later in the day to see if I would have any severe depression about anything...well, I was ok for awhile then around 9 or 10 PM I started getting depressed and suicidal again. I wish I could do something about this med.

I am planning on weaning myself off the lexapro since I know it's causing my depression lately. Wish me luck.

I'm not sure, but almost positive, that Lexapro and the other AD's in it's class, take awhile to start to work, about 2-4weeks, so I do not think they would just stop that soon. It may be all that is happening in your life right now. If you have been or think you were having ill effects of Lexapro for the past 3 weeks or more, you definately need to contact your doctor, just stopping a med. without letting the doc know, is really not a good idea, sometimes it can worsen things.
PLEASE contact the prescribing doc. about this, you have people that DO care about you. Let us know what happens, what he or she has to say.
Take care now,
DE

I've been on lexapro for about a year now and it's just quit working...I'm already on 20 mg I don't know if it can be increased or not.

Hi Lexicon,

I tried Lexapro briefly at the end of last year. I became mannic and suicidal while taking it. If you are having suicidal feelings please contact your doctor immediately! Please let us know how things turn out for you.

I recently started taking my lexapro at night, with the rest of the pills I take. It seems to be working better than taking it during the day but I still get suicidal and depressed at night, but now it's later in the evening when I do get depressed or suicidal
