Is Escitalopram the same as Citalopram?? (sorry unsure)

If it is... I have been on it for 5 months and it lifted my depression at times. I did get loads of side effects though that lasted a wee while!
Thanks for this!

Is it just bad side effects you are having?
Thanks for this!

Hi there

I really don't know. I have a bad history as far as antidepressants are concerned. They often send me hypomanic. This time I just feel more depressed.

I have tried Lexapro before but it was much too weak for me, so never got any side effects...
Thanks for this!

Does not sound fun! http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0000214

I'd wait maybe a few more days to see if there are any good changes but then I'd call the doctor and tell him you didn't "like" it and wanted to wean off, maybe try something else.

As Perna said, I would wait a few more days. Most medication side effects will go away in a week or so but after that I would get concerned.

I went up to 20mg.
It made me very tired, so initally I took it all at night. After a while I tihnk I split the dose morning/evening.
The main side-effect I battled with was loss of libido.
Otherwise I think it was an effective drug for depression. I've also had good results with a drug called Edronax (You'll have to google it to find the name of the equivalent in your country) It picks up energy levels too
