Holy Frog Farts!!!

I could totally say something worse right now. I'm trying to keep myself under control. So my medical insurance through my new job is just starting today. I was tapering down on my Cymbalta, trying to keep myself out of withdrawals and I still had withdrawal symptoms but they were managable.

Well....I ran out completely last Friday and for the last week I have felt soooo sick...especially yesterday and today. The brain zaps, constant high pitched buzzing in my ears, the vibrating teeth, and the increased sensation of my nerves being more ultra-sensitive than ultra-sensitive has been, I don't know, maybe tolerable....but last night the GI symptoms started and I have been nauseous/vomiting with diarrhea ALL DAY LONG over and above the Neuro symptoms.

I am hot and cold....sweating and over-heated.....ugh.

The good news was that I was able to get my prescription filled today and I took my first dose of 120mg. Does anyone else know about how long I can expect to feel like death before I start feeling somewhat less crappy? Does anyone know if I can take a second dose today to help elliviate these symptoms. I took a dose at 10 AM, but I vomited a few hours later. I really want to take another dose tonight. It's like I need my Cymbalta fix.

I need to go lay down. I hurt and I don't feel good at all.

Thanks

I'm so sorry to hear the withdrawl symptoms have been so awful but I'm so glad you were able to get your refill prescription. All I know is the stuff I read online where they say it does really help to taper down slowly... Are you still feeling rotten? Does tylenol or advil help at all?

Well, I've slept through the entire day. No more vomiting, but still cramps, still hot/cold flashes, still buzzing zaps and fuzzy eyes. Still other GI issues.

Tylenol helps and my ativan helps take the edge of some of the mood swings and bouts of anger I am getting. I am feeling a little better, but all my muscles ache and I feel like I was hit by a truck.

I know I don't have a virus....no temp, haven't been around anyone who has been ill and all the signs/symptoms point to Antidepressive Discontinuation Syndrome. I'm supposed to work tomorrow from 7am-7pm, so I hope my body is feeling better. I haven't eaten anything since last night except a small dish of applesauce I just started munching on. It's the only thing that even sounds like I want to put it in my body.

Anyway....I think I'm going to go lay down some more. I can't stand the way my body feels and when I can sleep it is so nice. I hope work will be able to distract me enough tomorrow to get my mind off of any discomfort.

Thanks for reading, and for the responses.

(((((Hugs to you)))))

I have been through similar withdrawls with cymbalta. I can tell immediately if I have forgotten a dose because of the severe headaches and the zapping and the ringing. I have been on cymbalta 2 different times, and have found that if it gets stopped suddenly I have had the same symptoms as you, but not as severe....although you are at a higher dose than I was. I take 60mg 2x a day.
Please let us know how you are feeling and take good care of yourself hon. Please feel free to PM me with any questions...cymbalta has been the only anti-depressent that has done any bit of good with my depression.
Good luck hon.
Jen
