I am taking Pristiq and Ability 2mg. I have joint pain and swelling from Abilify. Looking for substitute for Ability as add-on without these side effects.

I don't know why your post was moved to this forum--did you move it or did a moderator? you may want to ask this question in the medication forum if you haven't already.

oh, and welcome!

Have you looked into Cymbalta? Just a thought see lots of commercials for it, I was thinking about trying to switch to it due to my knees sometimes bothering me, not as a side effect of anything other than getting old.

Cymbalta could replace Pristiq (which is basically Effexor but, changed a bit for patent purposes I presume, so if you want to save some money switch to generic Effexor first) as a different SNRI antidepressant but, Abilify is an antipsychotic medication. Joint pain and swelling isn't a common side effect of that medication, do you know why it would cause that for you? Is it that you're more jittery and moving around a lot more? There are a lot of atypical antipsychotics out there that you can try. You'll want to figure out why this effect is happening so, talk to your doctor.
