Often you have to wait 4-6 weeks to see effects of an anti-depressant. Sometimes you can see small effects at about two weeks.

Your dose may be low to start, to see how it goes.
It can take a while to feel the effects for some, others notice effects soon.
You may want to talk to your prescriber about how long to expect to feel better or abut trying an increased dose.

Hey I have been on fluexotine for around 2 months !!
I am only just starting to elevate and feel normal if you get my drift.
I was having 2nd thoughts about 3 weeks ago but I pushed on, the fluexotine doesnt sedate me, hence sleeping was an issue at first, but I am totally glad Ive stuck with it, it has sent alot of my symptoms running for the hills, but time will tell I guess.
Im only on 150mgs not sure if thats a high or low dose probably mediocre.
hope your feeling better soon

you can usually notice a difference in about 2 weeks, but like googley said it might take 4-6 weeks before you notice the full effect.

20mg isn't much, although it's a fairly typical starting dose. When I was on 20mg of Fluoxetine, I didn't feel any good effects until at least a good 6 weeks in.
