Last night after taking the medication, i started to get this weird tingly sensation all over my body, mostly on my hands and feet. later i began too feel the "pins and needles" too. Then I started to hallucinate, which caused me to run out of my room freaking out. My mother demanded that i spend the night in her room so she could monitor me. But i saw something else again, though it didn't freak my hell out as it did previously. When i woke up this morning the pins and needle feeing comeback again, and my calf muscles are sore. Am i reacting badly to this medication, or is it something that will go away?

by the way, i had hallucinated in the past before the medication.

I've been on zyprexa twice and have never had anything like that. I would call your Pdoc.

Hello DAICY,

if you are switching from a different antipsychotic, this is pretty common. You need to give the medication some time (about a week). It is recommended to gradually lower the dosage of the old antipsychotic while increasing the dosage of the new one. I've been through this many times, and I also have some bad experience with this, so I usually just increase the dosage of the new medication and take both antipsychotics for a while, because I hate dealing with psychosis. Works for me.

Zyprexa causes weight gain in 90% of people taking it including me.

Cheers

Oh thank you for the replies!
My psychiatrist told me to stay on it, and it seems like that feeling went away. weight gain? He told me people gained weight on Zyprea because it makes you reaallly hungery, but since im on topamax too my hunger pangs should be easier to control.
