3 days ago I stopped taking seroquel XR 450 mg. I have been feeling really weird. Last night I was not able to get to sleep because of racing thoughts, something I have never had before and I cant seem to turn off my mind. I also have a horrible headache and feel very shaky and jittery inside. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with stopping and if they had any symptoms.

Why did you stop taking it? It sounds like the headache, shakes and jitters could be withdrawl symptoms. I stopped taking all my meds due to a very bad case of the stomach flu. I am hoping to be back on them by tomorrow, I haven't taken any since last Thursday.

Oh dear you should never ever stop quetiapine suddenly! You will get severe withdrawals. I made the same mistake last year and ended up with rebound psychosis. You will also be unable to sleep. Why did you stop? If you are going to stop taking it you must do so very slowly. Be careful.

My doctor tapered me off seroquel, a low dose even and I had withdrawals. Couldn't sleep at all!! I hope you have a doc. you're working with on this. It sounds like you're having withdrawals though.

Wow, that is tough stopping medication cold turkey. I came off Geodon and even with tappering I had bad withdrawl symptoms. It usually hits around day 3 and lasts about a week, sometimes 2. Be careful and please let your pdoc know you did that so he/she can monitor you.

i also had similar symptoms when i stopped taking Seroquel abruptly, i was on 200mg three times daily and stopped cold turkey. Withdrawals lasted about a week.
