Hi all,

So I'm going into week 3 of fluoxentine (generic prozac).
Today I started getting an odd "spasm" in my stomach muscles. Has anyone ever had anything like this? My stomach doesn't hurt, just feels oddly stiff. I'll call the doc tomorrow... Just checkin in.

Elana,
When I was on prozac, I had some weird GI symptoms too, although not what you are describing. It gave me esophagitus, where I had this horrible burning in my esophagus and chest after I would take the medication.... it would always feel like the pill had gotten stuck, although it actually hadn't. Not fun. I think my weird reaction to prozac is pretty rare, although I've heard of other people having GI symptoms of one kind or another while on that med. I think it is smart to call your doctor. How did that conversation go?

Hi GGal,

I am meeting with him today to get something different. I think the Prozac helped *slightly* though I had major jitters on a low dose. I could put up with that... as I've heard they most likely go away. But I also had some odd muscle spasms. I just couldn't imagine what else could cause them. I never had anything like it. My stomach muscles would tense up unexpectedly. Well, on to something else. Thanks for checking in.
