Iwas put on 150mg of seroquel xr three days ago. I am also on synthroid 25mcg,, lamictal 300mg, trazodone 200mg and ambien cr 12.5mg. My question is are these meds safe together and how severe are the side effect of the serquel xr?

I much preferred seroquel xr to the regular kind of seroquel. The nice thing about seroquel xr is that it doesn't knock you flat out almost immediately like regular seroquel does. The xr version needs a few hours to kick in. I took it after supper and by bedtime it was kicking in. I had no problems with feeling drowsy in the mornings.

You are on a lot of meds that induce sleep though. Trazodone, ambien, and seroquel are all prescribed to induce sleep (among other things). The combination of the three seems a bit much, but your pdoc probably has reasons for how he is prescribing your meds.

I take the trazodone and ambien for sleep. My psychiatrist seems to think the seroquel will help my depression. I am skeptical though because I have been on probably 25 meds in the past 3.5 years, all of which worked for maybe three months...

Seriously that's a lot of sleep type meds! And synthroid, I had to google that-- it's for hypothyroidism? I would watch yourself carefully for signs of being too tired, all these meds are sedating individually and they interact to make each other stronger esp seroquel and trazodone.
