I am seeing my psyche next month and we've been talking about decreasing my meds (Effexor, Topomax) since I don't really need them anymore (depression, anxiety)-- the topomax was given to me years ago to help control binging and purging which I haven't done in a long long while; the effexor has been cut back a few times and I think I'm ready to go off it. I just need to stay on my trazadone for sleep issues.
i was wondering would i finally lose some of the weight i need to if I went off my meds? Its not much (10 pounds?) .... would going off my meds help? |

Hiya SarahMichelle,
Effexor put a lot of weight on me and i've been off it for over a year and have only recently been able to lose some of the weight. That's been due to calorie restriction (healthily I might add) and considerable exercise. You have to work to make the weight come off, it won't come off on it's own, at least not in my experience. Love and hugs and good job! Tara |
