anyone here used tegretol for a while or long term? I am just starting it and am having issues with being sleepy and biting the insides of my cheeks. I have bipolar 1 and am using it with lithium and some others. I have tried depakote and lamictal in the past with no success. I am really hoping this works for me. I'd like to hear from some people who have tried it in the past.

I am on lamictal and my doc wants me on lithium but I refuse to take it(long story). I have never taken tegretol. Let me know by pm how you are on lithium. I am now considering it.

I took tegretol at one time, but I never had those problems (I didn't think it did much of anything for me actually.)

I was on tegretol for a while, but it didn't agree with me. Unfortunately I can't remember exactly what the problems were, because I wasn't functioning so well at the time. This was before I got on the med combo that really worked for me.

It's worth persevering with your doctor, and making sure that they do their best to find the right combination for you. Medicine shouldn't add to your problems, after all.

i've been on tegretol for years, and never had a single problem with it in all that time. works fine for me.

I was taking tegretol in college. I quit it because one time I had a super heavy sense of outer body experience. It really tripped me out.
