I just wanted to mention a combination that is working really well for me. I'm currently on an anti-psychotic (a new one) and an SSRI. The anti-psychotic is called Solian, but i don't think it is available in America. The anti-depressant is Prosac. I've heard that the anti-psychotic may work even better when combined with the SSRI and i've found this to be true. I'm feeling better than i ever have. Have any of you out there found combinations like this helpful? Have you found that one works better when in combination with another drug?

Hi, sometimes!
Oh yes - when I was originally put on meds years ago for Major Depression, I was prescribed Zoloft (a Prozac-twin) and Depakote because my depression was rapid cycling. Quite recently, due to an episode, I have had 2 other meds ADDED to this regime to find out what works best, what can be weaned out. Mt T. told me pdoc's are like chemists trying to find the right formulation for each patient! Hope that helps a bit!!

They've even marketed a combination drug, called Symbyax.....fluoxetine/olanzapine a.k.a. Prozac and Zyprexa.
I've never used it, but it's got a lot of anecdotal support. Lar |
