I understand that withdrawal from Seroquel can cause nausea and vomiting. The last time I was taken off it I was sick for four weeks and had to get IV fluids twice. I am now withdrawing for a second time. After tapering down with MD involvement, I took my last dose 10 days ago. I have had significant nausea and vomiting since. I have been prescribed Zofran then Compazine but have not had a reduction in symptoms. My Psycho-pharm and PC are both on vacation this week and the NP is only available for emergencies. Any suggestions on how I might relieve my symptoms-I am not looking forward to another three weeks of this, like last time.

I've been on Seroquel for a long time. When I've tried to go off it the only symptom I had was insomnia.

Aidan1970, were you successful in staying off the Seroquel that week, or did you end up in the hospital due to dehydration and electrolyte depletion? I'm just starting to taper down from 200mg per night. I read that one person tapered 25mg down per week. So I scraped a bit off the top and side of one of my pills, hoping that was a 5% decrease. I haven't told my doctor yet that I'm doing this, but will probably leave a message for him tomorrow. I don't remember when my next appointment is, but I'm being treated for fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, high blood pressure, and depression by a family health practitioner. He thinks I have bipolar disorder, but try as I might, I just don't agree. But my limbs are jerking and spasming on their own, and I don't want to eventually end up with tardive dyskenesia due to Seroquel just to please my MD. It's scary stuff. I do know from reading other forums on Seroquel withdrawal that Seroquel is a particularly nasty medication to go off of. There are folks out there who have no problem at all going off, but most do have some very disagreeable symptoms. If anyone can give me some advice on tapering my Seroquel, I would appreciate it. I am new here. Thanks in advance.
