I'm so tired of waiting to feel better, and am hoping for the best, but I've heard of it not working for a lot of people, or causing this terrible rash, etc. does it help for irritablility and agitaion?

I didnt get a rash. You have to work your way up to an effective dose. I'm now on 175mg. How much did they start you at? I have noticed a change in my mood lately but I also have been having ECT. It's hard to say what method is helping me. I would say I've been less irritable overall, not sure if its the lamictal though.

They started me on 25 mgs. 2 weeks at 25 mgs, 2 weeks at 50 mgs, 1 week at 100 mgs, not sure where it goes from there.

That's a typical starter dosing, jlock. I didn't notice an actual change in mood so much as a leveling of of my moods after reaching my therapeutic dose of 200mg.
