we lost our Pdoc...second one in three months. my meds need tweaking and i have to see a GP that works parttime at the clinic. he won't know diddly---- about psychmeds. should i wait til we get a new pdoc? it was the GPs/internists that misdiagnosed me for so many years.......what to do?

Gah! That sucks, pat! 2 pdocs in THREE months?!?!? That's barely time for either of you to get to know you and vice versa. Is there anyway to tell the clinic that you feel more comfortable with a pdoc and is there one at another clinic??

if your doc doesnt know "diddly", as you say, about psychmeds, i think it best to wait. i think if you really feel bad you dont have that choice, but if you think you can hold off, its best to deal with someone experienced in that area. how long til the new pdoc? i hope its not going to be a long wait for you, and sorry you have to deal with this.

So all of the people who visit the county clinic are stuck without a prescribing doc right now? Well that stinks.

if the other doc is crazy, by all means STAY AWAY. keep taking your meds as you are, keep up the search or whatever effort it is that you can make towards finding a new doc and know that we're here when you need to vent. i hope the wait will not be too long and i'm sending best wishes your way.

shirley, we all sat in waiting room and stared at each other...upon finding out that he was let go. he was wonderful!!! just this little huddled up bunch of nuts there....sad and feeling forgotten. he is the only prescribing Pdoc tthere. or was the only one. i don't trust other docs anymore. i'm going to try to hang on...and i'll probably be in here a lot. had a bad night. couldn't sleep and worrying about the clinic and josh and such. whew!!!! i needed to get that out!
thanks to all of you. it actually scares me more than i first thought it did. i want to know that link is there..i need that. xox

That's really awful, Pat...I hate that instability that comes with not having a pdoc. Very scary, and you have all that worry about Josh on top of it.

What needs tweaking with your meds, anyway? Are you having side effects or symptoms?

Thinking about you,
DJ
