I'm at 1000mg of Depakote ER for bipolar type 2. I was previously on Zyprexa which helped stabilize my moods, but it destroyed my memory gave me akithisia and other crap side effects. I can think so much more clearly now, but now the mood episodes are back and Depakote after a week of taking it is just not doing a darn thing. Should I try taking higher doses or switch to something else? I've pretty much decided antipsychotics are out of the picture now since they have all done way more harm than good in the past.

I would say give it more time, You have only been taking it for 1 week, Sometimes meds can take upto 6 weeks before they kick in, I'm on these too and I think it took about 4 weeks before I felt the affect of them
