My doctor decided to try me on Zoloft for my anxiety. He has me starting at 25mg for a week than increasing to 50mg. I'm a little nervous about this (naturally, I have anxiety, lol). I'm wondering if zoloft would be effective at 25mg dose. Does anyone take that low a dose?

From my experience I would say that the 50 mg would probably do better for your natural anxiety. The only thing I personally did not like about this drug was that I gained weight on it no matter how hard I tried not too.... but this does not happen to very one, some people loose weight while on it.

Good Luck - ((((((( HUGS )))))))

Meds begin working as soon as you take a pill... so try it a week and if it works, don't increase till you feel the need... hope it helps!

I've been on Zoloft for about 15 years at 100 mg for depression so I don't know the dosage for anxiety but just wanted to give some assurance that for *me* it's been a great drug...and I'm one who has lost some weight on it.

pdocs seem to start at the lowest possible dosage then go up as needed.

Good luck with that Zoloft
