In 4 years of taking Zyprexa erratically and 2.5 years of being on Consta consistently my weight has gone up from about 77 kg to about 111kg and i am now about 32kg overweight.
I am trying to curb my eating and have stopped the 2-3 takeaways a week plus started to eat regular breakfast but weight is stubbornly refusing to shift.
Am not expecting miracles and vast sign of weight loss this early ,would be bad, as lose too quickly put it back on very easily, but psychologically after trying to lose weight for 5 weeks i would expect 4.5kg or so weight loss.
It is frustrating that it is not happening.I had looked at about 7-8 months to lose the necessary weight sensibly which seemed very daunting in itself but given progress so far i am even doubting that estimate.
This is the only goal i can think of to try and achieve as i have difficulty thinking of future goals but i know it will be a battle royal to have the will power to succeed especially given lack of progress so far .
It would be good to succeed not only for my health but for the psychological boost in achieving that it would give me.

have you asked your doctor about the weight gain/trouble losing weight? is there an alternate medication that would work for your issue that is a little better in the weight area? I'm not familiar with this medication; I wish I could give you better advice. I just wanted to say that I feel your pain with struggling with the weight loss!

I think there are more weight neutral medications but the trouble is i was put on Consta, which is a long acting fortnightly injection.because i had a poor track record remembering to take daily oral medication.I was struggling to remember to take oral meds 50%+ of the time but since being on depot have not missed an injection in 2.5 years(nearest i came was falling asleep and waking up an hour late for my injection but there was no problem getting it)
The only other atypical i know that is available in injection form is Zyprexa which is even worse supposedly for weight gain.
