It worked great when I had strained muscle and spasm, combined with phys.therapy everything healed well,no longer needing flexeril.
Many years ago I had a pinched sciatic nerve, and the med helped then too, relaxed the musccle that was pinching the nerve.
Any docs I have had over the years that I have seen for muscle related injury or strain, do not prescribe too many pills, nor have I had any that had a refill on the bottle.
It usually worked by the time the pills were finish.
It can make some people drowsy, so be careful till you see how it makes you feel.
I hope you'll be feeling better soon, good luck. Flexeril ?

I was on Flexeril for a while and it helped me a lot but I went through two days of withdrawl. Defiantely taper off when you go off them..I didnt know and I was sick for two days. I thought it was the flu or something and then I found out afterward it was withdrawl. Theres certainly worse things and Fleril helped me. It just would have been easier if the prescribing doctor or the pharmacist owuld have mentioned not to stop all at once...

Flexeril was prescribed to me after I hurt my back and when I had some muscle spasms in my upper back. It worked pretty well but did make me loopy and tired.

Red Rose - Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) is a skeletal muscle relaxant; which means that it relaxes any muscles that attach to the skeleton. This includes the muscles involved in co-ordinating movement (walking, standing, reaching for something, etc). Also affected, and seldom considered, are the muscles involved in moving the eyes. Generally thes muscles become relaxed; or in other words, these muscle will lack much of their natural tone. Thus, when taking cyclobenzaprine one must be aware that their reflexes will be slowed.

Four tablets (40mg total dose) a day is rather a high dose. Over the years I have found that in a vast majority of people taking cyclobenzaprine for muscle spasm will only need to take a couple of tablets daily to achieve relief from muscle spasms. Taking more just seems to turn most people into a "bag of jelly". When this happens, one can forget about doing anything constructive for the rest of the day (this includes most thinking and useful decision making).

My 2 cents - Cam

Hi! I just took myself off of the Flexeril. Made me more medicated than I thought. I had another fall. This one was the worst fall. I am 58 and should not be loosing my balance like this. I have horrible huge deep bruises practically all over my body. Flexeril ? Thank God i did not hit my head. I will let you know if I feel less medicated.

Be especially careful while driving. That's one of the reasons i pulled myself off. Take good care Rose! Flexeril ?

Call your doc, sounds like you may have a bladder infection, not related to Flexeril.
Do you find you are urinating more than usual? Not that is a sure sign, but it would be a good idea to call the doc and have them take a urine sample at the office, you can have it done at your family doctor (GP).
One time, when I had one of the several, bladder infections, I didn't even know it, had no symptoms till I really was feeling lousy, which took longer for treatment (usually antibiotics) to kick in and stop the infection.
I wish you lots of luck with this all.
Sincerely,
DE

red rose, can you decrease what you're taking in half? one in the am and one in the pm, or do you feel to drugged to take it at all? i personally couldn't take it. i felt like i didn't know my name.

my hubby swore by it, but could only take it at night before bed because of the same reason and he's a big man.

maybe you can take it at night before bed and find something less sedating during the daytime hours? that's what hubby did.

gl dear.

Hi again!! Flexeril ? I am more alert since I came off of the Flexeril. There is a host of this type of med. that does not cause such dizziness/drowsiness. Talking with your Doc should solve the problem. GL, ~Dottie
