Can anyone help me understand why this happened? Please; I welcome any comments.

At my doctor's suggestion, I took 5 mg of Saphris the other day, at 4pm as she told me. I was calm for about 3 minutes, then fell into a deep sleep. Family couldn't wake me up so they got worried. I would wake up long enough to answer their question only 2 or 3 words and then fall asleep again. They took my blood pressure; it was slightly low. I had no fever. No vomiting. But my thighs (quads) began to feel as though bugs were in the muscle, and I couldn't kick it out because how does one kick their thighs? I started to panic and this is when they looked into my eyes. My pupils were pinpoints, and when they looked this up online, the only references were to heroin trips and od's. WtF? at Saphris. Anyone ever have this experience or can anyone think of why this may have happened? Needing .

That sounds like something you need to discuss with your pdoc; hopefully before you take the drug again.

I had that kind of experience when the dose of my drugs was too high; it's also one explanation why you might get the side-effects of an overdose. But really, something you need to discuss with a doctor.

Hopefully you called your doctor as soon as you could. This is really a question for him.

What did your doctor say? I hope you are OK.

Talk to your doc but I don't think it is rare reading about it on Wiki.

There it says common side effects are severe akathisia, somnolence and extreme sedation.

If they are correct, it seems like you had some of the more common side effects. Your doctor shouldn't be surprised I think.

Hi. I had similar experience, but not as bad, when I took Xeldox for the 1st time. Part of the problem was my pdoc put me on too high a dose. But yeah, I reacted similarly. For you, may have been the dose or just that it's not suitable for you, or may have just been your body getting used to it. Either way, I hope you sought professional help. Please keep us posted on how you go.

Thanks so much for the feedback! I could not contact the doc---she works only on M, T, W. The event was on Thursday. Now I'm just not taking it until I get a call back.

Hahaha I totally forgot I used to do this on Saphris. I used to fall asleep right after taking it, then wake up a few times though out the night say some random things to my roommate and go right back to bed. It was the oddest thing. I never remembered waking up. I was also in a very deep sleep, my family could rarely wake me up. I think I had read the muscle spasms were a possible side affect of the med.
