Hey, it's Choocha here. I already posted this, but I accidentally posted in new member intro, instead of here, & don't know how to move it derr.

Anyway, I need to get back on a stabiliser. Running out of options. I'm deciding between Saphris & Xeldox. I'm really concerned about side effects, mainly weight gain & zombieness ie sleep-eating, sleep-smoking etc hehe. FYI, I take Cymbalta, the anti-depressant (if this is relevant at all?).

Anyone with any info, either what you've heard or especially if you have tried either, please give me some feedback. Positives, negatives, side-effects etc would be great. Another thing, if anyone has any suggestions about which stabilisers etc have the least potential for weight gain, I'd love to know. In Australia we seem to have far less choice/alternatives compared to USA. Thanks for your time. xo

I take Ziprasidone (Zeldox, Geodon) and have never experienced any weight gain but everyone is different so results may vary. Side effects of sleep eating, sleep driving, sleep talking on the telephone, sleep sex can be experienced while taking sleeping medications such as Ambien and Lunesta but not Ziprasidone. Ziprasidone needs to be taken with a meal, preferably a high calorie meal. I think it's a good med as it reined in my mania as well as psychosis.

I had a terrible time with Zeldox. I thought I was going to die.

But it doesn't really matter how I or anyone else react to a med, it will not decide how you will react. Unfortunately you have to try it to know...

Sorry, I've been spelling xeldox wrong, it's zeldox. I hope that didn't confuse anyone. Still looking for feedback. Zeldox not working, mega side effects, definitely trying saphris next. Advice/feedback pls?
