I've been on the same dose of Quitiapine for a long time now, and what happened last night as never happened to me before.

I felt awful - my pulse (I took it myself) was about 140, and I couldn't even keep up with the beats because there was more than two beats a second the majority of the time I was taking it. I felt as though my heart was going to jump out of my chest.

It was so bad I thought I was about to have a full blown heart attack.

Anyone know why this suddenly happened when I've been on the same dosage for ages and it hasn't happened before?

I was on about 300mg of quetiapine when i started having a fast irregular heartbeat. But then I realised I had a cigarette, downed a can of monster and and cycled a bit. But I seriously thought I was going to have a heart attack if I carried on riding my bike. I had to stop and sit down and try the whole "deep breathing" stuff doctors are always trying to say. Then it actually slowed down a bit. My dose has since increased and I haven't had that again. Perhaps for you it was a combination of things, anxiety? excited about something? caffeine? idk just throwing out some ideas
