I will soon have to fast one day due to religious reasons and I am on Effexor XR. Is it safe to skip a day since i take it in the morning?

Personally I wouldn't. Effexor has nasty discontinuation syndrome, and some people report getting severe headaches and nausea if they miss even one dose. Most religions, I'm familiar with, make a dispensation for things like meds, perhaps discuss with your spiritual advisor.

I wouldn't suggest missing a dose either. It's one of the drugs who's side effects you notice as soon as you miss one dose.
I missed a dose the other day and my head was spinning, brain zaps and my vision was either unfocused or weird.
Like Splitimage said most religions (if that is why you are fasting) allow you to take meds that you need.
Good Luck.

I appreciate the advice. This fast you cannot even take pills so that is why i am worried. It starts in the evening to the next evening. Should i change to taking it from the morning to the night so that it wont effect me during the fast? I am scared i do not want to get brain zaps? I only have been on this since April and I just dont know what to do?
