I've been on lamictal for....a while with no side effects.
Same with prozac.
But about three weeks ago my doc added lithium and I've been
incredibly thirsty ever since. Has this happened to anyone else?
Is this something I need to mention on my next visit?

Thanks!

That's very standard for lithium. In fact, you need to be sure you drink plenty of water when you are on lithium. Completely normal side effect. I don't think anyone escapes that one.

I'm surprised your doctor didn't inform you about increasing your fluid intake.

In order to control your "trips" to the bathroom, try drinking 2 oz. of water 4 times an hour rather than the whole 8 oz all at once. It allows your body to be better hydrated. As a rule of thumb from training and exercise, general water intake should equal in ounces about half of your body weight. I'm about 180, so I take in normally about 90 oz of water in a day. It sound like a lot, but if you break it up over the time you are awake you can easily reach the amounts needed. Good luck.
