I accidentally split a Latuda pill taking it out of its blister pack. Instructions say not to split, crush or chew these pills. It seems a waste of a pill. These meds aren't cheap.
I guess my question is why can't I take it regardless if it is split? I will be much more careful next time for sure. Thanks for any info in advance. ![]()

I'd ask the pharmacy. If it is a problem they would probably replace it if you saved it. I don't know how much they are but worth a shot.

Thanks for your advice. I called the pharmacist and she said it was ok to go ahead and take it. Plus I was reading around posts that even pdocs have their patients split the pills sometimes. so it seems harmless.
Anyhow. Its not time release.........so. problem solved. thanks again.

I split mine. It's not time release, but it does build up in your system. The reason they say not to split them is that the medicine is not evenly distributed throughout the pill, so if you cut it in half, you might get more than 50% with one half, and less with the other half.
