...and didn't help my anxiety much. I mean my bp was 160 over 120 and my pulse was something like 88. Plus my concentration was ridiculous, I felt like I had dementia... so I went off it (haven't been rescheduled for a doc appointment, so, what choice did I have??) My sister wants me to try a beta blocker. I was on one in Febuary when I had chest pains and loved it. Why aren't beta blockers used more??

I don't remember the name of the med. It was supposed to help me with anxiety. Not an antidepressant, more like what they give people with bipolar (though I've never been diagnosed with it, it does run in my family). Began with an L, I think. I only took it a few days before my heart started skipping beats, and walking a few blocks made my chest feel like an elephant was sitting on it. Toprol is the stuff my sister wants me to try.

why didn't you stay on the betablocker? btw, they might make you gain weight, slow but sure, about 200 kcal/day you need to account for.

You need to go in for a followup.

Thank you, all. I called the clinic for a followup, the guy on the phone said he'd check into in, then the line went dead. I figured he'd hung up and just missed the signal lol. And yet no follow up call has been made. Guess i was blown off, huh.

I never was scheduled for a psych fololwup, which was strange. don't they like to see how the meds they prescribed are working? Never had a clinic do this before...hm.

It's irresponsible of them. Try to call again and if you find that hard and they allow email, use that instead. That is usually less stressful and you can think about what you want said.
Thanks for this!

Thanks, Jim. I hadn't thought about an email...that's a great idea!
