My p-doc increased my Pevexa from 20mg to 30mg because he said I was starting a downward spiral when I saw him last week. I've been on this same med for about 3/12 years and I know that antidepressants do poop out on you!
If it takes several weeks for a medicine to work when you first get it, how long should it take when you get an increase in dose? Pevexa is an SSRI and has been great for me! It is very similiar to Paxil (different maker, different inert ingredient) and without those awful side effects if you stop taking it, according to my p doc anyway. I've never had any desire to stop taking it since it has worked so well.

I am on two meds that take up to weeks/months to begin to work at first, but when I up the dosage, I can feel the effect immediately. I think once it is in ur system the 1st time, you should feel it pretty quickly. But that is just me...

I've heard for most drugs it can take several weeks to work once on the target dose. So yes, I imagine that it could take you as long to see the improvement. I think there's good hope that it'll help.

Thanks for your replies!
I do feel better so, it must be working for me. Over the past odd 13 or so years, I've had to either up the dose of change the drug completely, I just didn't even think to ask the question when I had my appt. Again, thanks.
