Doctors been trying to get me on meds for past two yrs. I agreed to lamictal and been on that for a month. The provider I see for meds wants me on Abilify - and reading what I seen so far with weight gain - I am anorexic so offering me pills w/weight pain isnt going to work and especially I dont have a therapist (ed specialist) I follow for the ED. Are there any meds in that class without weight gain?

I didn't have weight gain on abilify. It isn't a given.

Your pdoc probably suggested Abilify because it is the most weight neutral of the AAP's. There probably is no better option with regard to that class of meds if you are worried about weight gain. Many people on here haven't gained on it. I didn't either. It was amazing for my mental health though.

Good luck!
EJ
Thanks for this!

How about you start a 'did you gain weight on Abilify' poll in the bipolar section? It would give you a clearer indication of how weight - neutral it is...
