Good morning
My 15 year old was recently diagnosed with ADHD. His Pdoc prescribed Concerta. If possible please share your experiences with the medication. Rather it was good or bad. I would like to know what to look out for. Any feedback provided is greatly appreciated. Thanks

You might try posting this on the ADHD forum also.

My son hasn't used concerta, but seems like I've heard good things about it.

In generally, most ADHD meds have some common side effects: lack of appetite (my son generally isn't hungry in the middle of the day when his meds are at their peak); sometimes sleep can be an issue, but not necessarily so.
Thanks for this!

I was prescribed Concerta. It helped me focus but it made it hard to get to sleep at night.
Thanks for this!

My daughter takes concerta. It has been an awesome meds so far. It makes a HUGE difference in hyperactivity.
We are starting to see issues with attention now, so may be due for an increase.
Thanks for this!

Had little to no effect on my child. He just cried a lot so we took him off it.
Thanks for this!

Don't know about kids but my own experience on Concerta was piercing stomach pain and extreme mood swings once the medication wore off. But I've had the mood swing problem with ADHD meds pretty much on all of them except for Focalin and Dexedrine Spansules.
Thanks for this!

My daughter has some of the mood swings, but not horrible because she also takes a small dose of ritalin in the afternoon
