Okay so I used to be on various anti depressants, anti psychotics, mood stabilisers, sedatives for anxiety and sleepers. A bit over a year ago I stopped them all and up until August 2012 i wasn't on anything.

Now i'm back on Seroquel, the dose has been changing, but it's to help with the psychosis and my sleep. I haven't really been taking it (my therapist and pdoc know) because of the drowsiness in the mornings which makes hiding the fact i'm taking it from my family almost impossible.

what i want to know is if anyone knows if there are other options which could help with sleep and the psychosis that don't have the drowsiness in the mornings.

I just saw my pdoc yesterday and forgot to ask her because I was really upset about other stuff which we talked about and basically i want to know if anyone knows if there are other options because i don't want to go back for i need to unless i know there are options to talk about with her...?

thanks

You could try Abilify as I hear it can be activating but I'm sure it varies with individuals. But to be honest, most medications (antipsychotics) that deal with psychosis have a sedating effect that could last well into the morning. It's the nature of the beast. But sometimes over time the drowsiness side effect diminishes depending on the particular antipsychotic. It's all trial an error and various med combinations to see what works for your particular needs as well as your chemistry.
