Ello everyone, I just got back from a psychiatrist appointment, and my plans to change the meds I'm on worked successfully

I am now on 150mg of Wellbutrin XL and 2mg of Abilify

(Previously 40mg Prozac and 300mg Seroquel XR)

One question I have is if any of you felt any immediate effects of the Wellbutrin?
I know exactly what to expect with the Abilify, but I don't have much experience with Wellbutrin XL.

Thanks ^_^

JD, when I first started Wellbutrin I found it to be very activating. Then it would even out after a few days. With each dose increase I would feel that activation for a few days. Good luck with the new meds.

I found the anti-depressant effects of Wellbutrin to work quite quickly, but it also caused a lot of anxiety

Hi JD,
Good luck with your new meds.
I'm pritty sure I'll be giving the ok to start welbutrin next week at my next pdoc appointment, so everyone's answers here are helpful to me as well.
My former pdoc and I by chance ended up exchanging e-mails. I took the risk and asked some med questions I had, and she actually answered them.
I told her all I've been reading about welbutrin causing anxiety, and she said in her experience it's rare. In general I trust her word very much, having worked with her a long time, but with this I don't know. I've heard a lot on here about it causing anxiety especially in the beginning.
I hope the best for you. I'll also let you know how it is for me when I start.

The Wellbutrin has caused incessant muscle tremors, insomnia, and major digestion issues.
The worst part is the nausea. I feel like I have the stomach flu but can't throw up to make the nausea go away.
I'm emetephobic, so nausea is not a side effect I handle very well...
I'm hoping these level out soon because this is getting ridiculous.

Definitely feels like an amphetamine...

When I first started taking Welbutrin I would feel energy for the first few days then it seemed to even out and stop. My anxiety has not let up. I still feel anxious 24/7 and weak. Seroquel is helping me sleep but I think it is making my muscles weak even though they are constantly tense (how does that make sense) and my heart rate increases to 130s by just walking for 5 minutes. I feel happier on Welbutrin...but the anxiety is outrageous. Im so sick of it.
