So she recently went through a detox? From what drug(s)? Perhaps the head nodding is related to her drug use rather than to discontinuing the Zoloft. I know that there are some symptoms that can persist a long time after detox from drugs or alcohol.
Can she at all control nodding her head? If so, it might be something she could work to improve through behavioral modification, which a therapist could help with. I am a fidgeter and I do it involuntarily but I can stop doing it if I pay attention to what I am doing. It's never bothered me enough to want to completely eliminate it, but I believe I could if it was causing a big problem for me. Good luck to your friend.

Your post title said "detox" so that's why I asked what drug she had recently detoxed from. I'm just responding to what you wrote, no need to say "wtf" to me. It is known that after detox there can be persistent symptoms for several months at least. Look it up if you don't believe me. And if your friend is "fine", then why did you post here and ask about her head nodding when anxious?
