I was on 4mg a few years ago and that seemed to do the trick back then. I'm now on 6 mg and that did the trick until recently. Now I am taking an extra pill during the day (7mg total) lately and that is doing the trick. Am I going to have to keep upping my dosage?

I was on that drug for a good while, but I can't remember what my history was when I was on it. I would think there would be a ceiling somewhere! This question might be a good one to ask your pharmacist, if you don't want to ask your psychiatrist.
Thanks for this!

You can build a tolerance to any psychotropic med or chemical. That's the way the body and/or brain reacts/works. That's why Michael Jackson was taking 40 xanax/day. Search risperidone and you should easily be able to find information relating to this.
